Paul Mee CPAGB

My art Teacher’s Brother was a Strangler, well in the band of the same name, but the punk ethic must have influenced my photography as I don’t think I conform to any strict popular style.

I have enjoyed photography since my art classes as a teenager when my parents bought me a Zenit E and I used to process my own black and white film and prints. One of my memorable inspirational moments was a Fay Godwin exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in London, she was an outstanding landscape photographer and best known for her black and white images showing man’s impact and ongoing struggle with nature. Her way of showing decay and dereliction which I think carriesß over in to my work.

I’ve continued to be interested ever since, since joining Loughton Camera Club a couple of years ago, I’ve benefitted from the experience developing my technique, trying and learning new skills.
